The host/hostess is to exude a strong sense of hospitality and welcome to all guests who enter into our space.  This position requires a sense of hotel concierge mixed with smart service and guidance.  After a proper greeting, the host will guide the guest(s) to their table or seat to enjoy the dining experience. As a Host/Hostess you will work in a team-oriented, high-volume, fast-paced, environment to deliver the best dining experience to our guests by:

  • Coordinates the operation and flow of the dining room during meal service periods thru seating and placement of guests
  • Graciously greets and seats guests upon arrival.  You must smile often!
  • Ensures guests are well informed and understand when they will be seated
  • Adjusts guest seating flow to balance customers among the various server sections
  • Engaging in friendly conversation as you seat guests in a timely fashion
  • Provides menus to guests
  • Introducing guests to their server
  • Manages special seating requests of guests consistent with table availability and special seating requirements
  • Relay messages to servers, managers, and bartenders, as appropriate
  • Assists with the duties of servers and server assistants, as needed
  • Checks table settings for proper presentation and completeness, and checks server areas for proper supplies
  • Clearing, cleaning and resetting tables to ensure they are ready for the next guest
  • Always sincerely thanking guests as they leave and inviting them to return
  • Answer the phone within 2 rings in a professional, upbeat and courteous manner (Be solutions oriented and welcoming!)

  • UNIFORM: BE IN UNIFORM & ON TIME WHEN YOU WALK INTO WORK AND PLEASE SHOWER AND BE CLEAN SHAVEN.
  • COMMUNITY: KNOW YOUR LOCALS AND YOUR LOCAL CULTURE.
  • TAKE OWNERSHIP IN WHAT YOU DO: IF SOMEONE IS UPSET OR CONFUSED DO NOT LEAVE THEM WITHOUT AN ANSWER.  TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THE ISSUE AND FIND A RESOLUTION EITHER THROUGH YOUR OWN KNOWLEDGE OR GET A MANAGER INVOLVED.  
  • CLEAN CLOSE: CRUMB FREE AND FOOD FREE SECTION WHEN YOU CLOSE.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum of 6 months of customer service, retail sales, or food service experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions for up to eight hours or more
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and policy documents, as well as converse comfortably with customers in English
