As a Bartender, you ensure consistent drink quality by preparing orders in a short period of time and in accordance with recipes and guidelines established by the Food and Beverage department. You will also maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area in a fast paced environment, while providing superior guest service. Responsible for the set-up, operation, and closing of the bar. RNeeds to be thoroughly knowledgeable regarding all beers, wines, and cocktails offered on the menu. Needs to be able to work at a quick pace and fast speed, yet under control. Receives drink orders from guests or service bar and prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes as defined by Beverage Director. Mixes ingredients for cocktails, serves wine, serves bottled beer and serves draught beer. Rings drink orders into POS, collects payment and handles cash accurately and quickly. Responsible for washing and sterilizing glassware, and keeping bar top and bar service area impeccably clean. Responsible for cash drawer management in the bar.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Greet guests in a timely and professional manner

Receives drink orders from guests or service bar

Mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for bar guests and dining room

Serves draught and bottled beer with proper pour and proper glassware

Mixes ingredients according to precise recipes for menu and chalkboard cocktails

Enters drink orders into POS, receives payment from guests for drinks served

Works in close unison with Bar Manager to keep all supplies, products and necessary items stocked and in inventory

Arranges glassware and bottles in a clean, organized and attractive display. This applies for items on the counters and shelves, but also applies for items below the counters.

Maintain neat, clean and professional attire and clean hygiene. (Failure to do so may get you sent home from shift.)

Maintains fine dining level of customer care and recognition. The recognition of new customers is critical as well as the greeting of familiar regulars. The position requires acknowledgement of guests within 1 minute even if you are busy.

Ensure that server tickets are accurate and complete

Know all the bar prices

Follow all prescribed health and safety regulations

Control and limit waste of product and glass breakage

Communicate honestly any problems or new ideas to management

Maintain all equipment and tools

Follow all rotation procedures to ensure freshness of all products. First in, first out.

Follow management's direct instructions and suggestions, as soon as reasonably possible

Verify guests that purchase alcohol are at least 21 years of age

Possess full knowledge of bar and menu items and be able to make recommendations

Accurately take food and beverage orders from guests in a timely manner at the bar

Deliver food and beverage orders within established time frames

Consistently use suggestive selling techniques

Ensure that alcohol is consumed in designated areas only

Set up and maintain appropriate stock levels for the bar

Assist in placing orders for all liquor and bar related supplies, as required

Requirements

High School diploma or GED
-
Must be at least 21 years of age

Must possess adequate knowledge of wine varietals and beer styles. (Further training will be provided)

Obtain any necessary alcohol service licensing requirements (TABC certification)
-
Minimum of 1 year of experience operating a full service bar
-
Strong knowledge of alcohol mixology, drink menus and classic cocktail preparation
-
Ability to stand on feet for an extended period of time
-
Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
-
Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
-
Ability to work in a fast pace environment
-
Excellent customer service skills with strong ability to interact with guests

Impeccable verbal communication, accurate math and cash handling skills
